Darling Diva Polish Opal Collection

Good morning lovelies!  It's time for flakies.  Sure we've all seen flakies before but I don't mean any old flakies, I mean the Darling Diva Polish Opal Collection.  The Opal Collection is really something unique and special!  All 7 polishes are colored jelly bases that are packed full of iridescent flakie glitter with holo shimmer sprinkled in.  Wow.  Just wow.  This collection is currently available at the DDP shop on Big Cartel and each one sells for $8.  DDP is also available for sale at Etsy, Llarowe and Mei Mei's Signatures.  You can follow DDP on Facebook and Instagram (darlingdivapolish).  And now with no rhyme or reason, here are the Opals!

*PRESS SAMPLE*

Up first I have Blue Opal, a lovely pale blue flakie.  This polish reminded me of cold icicles in the winter.  It's so chilly and frosty looking, a perfect shade for this time of year.  Application and formula were both wonderful.  The jelly finish was easy to work with and I had plenty of flakies come out with each brush dip.  I used 3 thin coats and 1 layer of topcoat.

This is Teal Opal.  Simply described as a teal colored flakie polish.  The holo sparkles really showed up in Teal Opal and I love how they worked with the iridescent flakies.  You can really see the green and cobalt blue flakies against this base color.  Again, formula and application were great.  I used 3 layers of Teal Opal and 1 layer of topcoat for sparkly and shiny nails!

Violet Opal is the purple contribution to the bunch.  It's a beautiful purple with blue undertones that highlights the blue, purple and magenta flakies.  This was another one where the holo sparkles really showed up well.  Like the last 2, wonderful formula and application.  No problems getting flakies out or applying them to my nails.  I used 3 coats of Violet Opal and 1 layer of topcoat.

This gorgeous bright green jelly is Sea Moss Opal.  The base color on this one stole my heart!  I am a sucker for greens.  Sea Moss Opal is loaded with green, blue and blurple flakies and blurple and green shimmer.  And of course the holo sparkle!  Again, perfect application and lovely formula.  I used 3 coats of Sea Moss Opal and 1 layer of topcoat.

If you love hot pink and you love flakies then you definitely need Rose Opal.  This is a hot pink/magenta jelly base full of blurple and light pink flakies.  It also has magenta shimmer to go along with the holo sparkle.  Rose Opal was probably the most sparkly of the collection.  Wonderful formula and application.  I used 3 layers of Rose Opal and 1 layer of topcoat.

Black Opal was the surprise favorite for me.  This is an amazing black jelly polish on it's own but the way the flakies created little rainbows of color in the base was stunning!  The base also really helped the holo sparkle come out.  I mean just look at these pictures....Black Opal is nuts!  It's going to be a perfect holiday party polish!  Great formula and application.  I used 3 layers with 1 layer of topcoat.

Finally we have Opal.  I chose to layer this clear based flakie over Essie Marshmallow - a sheer white jelly polish.  I am really please with how this combination came out.  The flakies remind me of snowflakes over the white base.  You can also see the delicate colors of the flakies over the light base - baby blue, light pink, yellow.  The iridescent colors are understated and beautiful.  The flakies came out in abundance and applied nicely over the base color.  I used 2 coats of Marshmallow and 2 coats of Opal.  I finished with 1 layer of topcoat.
